about me

I have been working in wood for the last ten years or so, and have been lucky enough to be involved in a great variety of projects while running my own cabinetry and joinery business.

So far, my career in wood working has included working in theatre set design and construction, teaching site joinery on a homeless self build project, completing an apprenticeship in green oak timber framing in America, fitting out narrow boats and building replicas of Victorian timber framed railway carriages, as well as many more run of the mill joinery jobs.

A couple of years ago my attention turned towards the incredible structures that are traditional wooden boats. So, excited about learning new skills and the possibility of combining my work with another passion - sailing - I moved to Falmouth to study boat building.

Having finished the course, and with a City and Guilds qualification under my belt, last summer I set up my own workshop with a view to building, sailing and selling traditional wooden craft. My first boat is now in the water, and, touch wood, is performing very well...
