Monie

Working again with Barnaby, Monie needed her original steel floors replacing and repairs to frames and planking. Vertue number three is now back on the water, complete with shiny new bronze floors.

  • Rusty steel floors Rusty steel floors
The original iron floors have suffered over the years - wasting away to nothing in places
  • Lifting her off her keel Lifting her off her keel
In order to access the throat bolts we had to lift her off her ballast keel
  • Frame repairs Frame repairs
Many of the steamed frames needed repairing where they had been in contact with the iron floors
  • New floors New floors
Patterns for the new floors - a little fettling then off to the foundry...
  • Floors fitted Floors fitted
Bronze floors installed in the newly painted bilge - beautiful!
  • Hood ends Hood ends
Refastening hood ends with bronze screws
  • Inerior Inerior
The interior (which had to be removed completely) is now back in place
